These two moms came to us on 6/4/16 from Holbrook.

Fostered by Susie in Framingham, MA.

#2016351N, “Violet”, Rat, Himalayan, , Standard Ears/Standard Coat, Female, DOB: 11/29/2015, Spayed/Neutered?: No

#2016349N, “Cerise”, Rat, Pink-Eyed-White, , Dumbo Ears/Standard Coat, Female, DOB: 11/29/2015, Spayed/Neutered?: No

These two need to go home together, but may also go home with a daughter from the Crayola girls or friends Gracie or Scout!

UPDATE 7/20/16:

Cerise is extremely shy and seems very intimidated by the whole process. When she first arrived, very pregnant, she basically froze in whatever position I put her in. She has been a wonderful mother to her litter of 15 babies. She will let me pick her up and holds herself very still, usually crawling up into the crook of my neck.

Violet is quite shy, though not as much so as Cerise. Shy but curious. She seems interested in the world around her, but when out and about, seems more comfortable being held where she can squeeze into an arm or a towel or bonding pouch. She is almost identical to Cerise, except she has the slightest hint of brown on her nose.

Violet and Cerise are very strongly bonded. Violet was with Cerise while Cerise was giving birth. They are curled together constantly. I would love to see them go together to someone who can devote time to them to help them come out of their respective shells.”

UPDATE 10/25/16:

Cerise continues to be the most scared of this group. For the first week, she was my Blair Witch Project rat because she would just stand in the corner with her best friend Violet. She’s finally hanging out in the igloo and seems a little more relaxed, and has even come over for a treat. She should go to an experienced rat home.

Violet is very shy and is usually hanging out with Cerise. She has not bit and I can usually pet her on her head. She can be coaxed to take a treat.”
