Mama Remy came to us on 7/8/20 from the CT Grand Slam rescue, already nursing babies who were born earlier that morning.

Special need: Rigatoni is blind in one eye and needs eye drops 3X per day. Her left eye is permanently damaged, and appearance is enlarged/bulging. Her adopter needs to be very vigilant about her eye care and comfort.

UPDATE 9/13/20 on Remy & Penne:

“Penne is absolutely adorable, easy to manage, and could definitely go to pretty much anyone looking for an energetic rat. She and my grandma rat pal around a lot.

Remy is much more shy and we’re still working on getting her used to being handled. She is what I like to call a “flight risk”- not loving being handled and willing to jump away (and has). She’s been a little nibbly too, nothing mean but not exactly gentle. She’s eating treats out of my hand 9/10 times I offer, and is definitely warming up to us and comes to see us through the bars. She is in general a happy rat with her cage mates, just not people quite yet.”

UPDATE 10/6/20 on Remy:

“After a few weeks of settling in, Remy has shown her very curious, playful nature. She is still shy and takes some time to warm up to new scenarios, but she loves scratches, snacks, and playtime! She gets along famously with all the other rats and will thrive with someone patient and gentle. She’s doing great! Just took her a bit to relax and know we bring her the food :)”
