These girls were all born as a result of the Holbrook rescue.
Fostered by Leticia in Merrimack, NH.
UPDATE 11/30/16:
“Servo is very friendly. Loves to hand wrestle and play chase. She’s very small and I don’t expect her to grow. She’s my spunkiest girl. She likes to hide in my couch and jump out to try to get me to play and tickle her.
Cottonseed needs some work with handling but will allow me to pet her and comes to my hand for food.
Kinana needs a lot more work. She freezes in fear when I pet her, and absolutely hates to be handled. When I pick her up she squeals and scratches. She’s very pretty though and with some work could be a great companion I believe.
My other two girls (hairless) are very friendly. Wanda loves to cuddle and play. She climbs up my pants leg if I don’t give her the attention she wants. Gypsy is also playful and cuddly but a little shy, I think that’s mostly because she has poor vision.”
UPDATE 12/30/16:
“Servo is a delightful rattie! She is friendly and the first to come to the door when one approaches. During playtime, she is all over the place, exploring then running back to you to climb all over you and run in and out of your sweatshirt. A very friendly, confident girl. She will occasionally ‘mouth’ you during play. It is very gentle, almost as if to say ‘come here, come here!”, good for anyone.
Cottonseed and Kinana have come around and are adoptable to the right person:
Cottonseed is curious so she will approach, but retreat if you move too quickly towards her. She tests with her mouth (not bite)….just checks…..so at the moment, not a good choice for a new rat parent or children. She is curious though, and has become more confident since living with the boys. She likes the security of a large rat group. She will occasionally ‘mouth’ you during cage cleaning but it is mild and does not break skin, rat experienced preferred.
Kinana was the most skittish of the bunch but her confidence has also received a huge boost since living with the outgoing friendly boys. She still complains a little when we pick her up out of the cage but she never bites. During playtime, she does lots of exploring, then hides when it is time to go back! She’s silly though….she always hides in the same place so we always know where to find her! She will occasionally ‘mouth’ you during cage cleaning but it is mild and does not break skin, rat experienced preferred.”
