These rats came to us on 6/4/16 from Holbrook.
Fostered by Sarah in Woonsocket, RI.
UPDATE 7/22/16:
“Peony ais a bit on the shy side. She might benefit from a bonding pouch, but she is both very friendly! Peony especially loves to snuggle in cupped hands.
Zinnia is curious about the world outside of the cage. She does, however, like bring held as well as being scritched on her head and tummy. She’s a great combination of calm and excitable and would make a fun companion.
Sunflower is usually not the first to come to the cage door when I come in, but will join when she sees friends coming over to me. She’s a bit jumpy, and I’ve been working on one-on-one time with her. Once she’s out and about she likes to run around and play.
Hollyhock loves loves loves corn. And treats. I think she’d be really trainable. She will literally sit in the crook of your elbow for as long as you keep giving her treats. She loves head rubs!
Sweet Pea lives up to her name for sure. She likes to be held and rubbed on her belly and head. She definitely likes to run around but will put up with me kissing her.
Rose is always the first to the cage door. She’s very outgoing and loves to be the center of attention. She likes to give manicures (licks, nail nibbles and all). She also likes to be held but would rather be out exploring.
Poppy loves to chase hands around. She enjoys tickles and head scritches. She’s super active and outgoing (and cute).
All of these girls are great and have unique personalities. Definitely heart rat material!
These girls are also great at pooping/peeing in their litter pan. They definitely understand the concept. They’re not 100% perfect but most of the poops get there!”
UPDATE 9/4/16:
“Sunflower (Sunny, I like to call her) has really come out of her shell. She’s playful and loving and is no longer last to the cage door when I open it. She and Dahlia are BFFs — they are constantly snuggling together in the space pod. They’re both PEWs, though, so I’m not sure if it’s ideal or not! Maybe they can go home together. (:
Zinnia is just a little adorable peach. She’s quiet, but likes to explore the cage when I put in new stuff in and loves to forage for treats. She hides all of her food in boxes I have in the cage then I see her sneaking back to it later.”
