Momma Bourne came to us on 6/4/16 from Holbrook having given birth to her babies shortly before.
Fostered by Stacy in Hanover, CT.
UPDATE 10/2/16:
Dudley is a little jumpy but curious, brave, and funny.
Webster is curious and funny; he will be cuddly with more handling.
Quincy is friendly. He’s a little skittish but we’re working on it. A sweet boy.
Boston is a little shy but so sweet. He is cuddly and getting curious.
Carver is a quieter, sweet boy.
Franklin is my favorite; he is the first one at the door. Very curious, sweet, and funny.
Duxbury is so so so sweet and likes to give kisses. He loves to be pet and hang out with you.
Truro is a quiet boy, cuddlier, and calmest of the boys.
Beckett is shy and likes to be pet.
Dracut is such a sweet little boy; he is curious, friendly, and funny.
UPDATE 12/10/16:
“Wellesley is extremely calm and friendly. Loves to cuddle. Getting to be a big lady!
Salem is slightly skittish but she is curious. Once out of the cage she is okay. Still smaller than the others. I feel like she and Lenox are “twins”.
Lenox is more skittish than Salem. She nips but we’re working on getting her used to hands. Once out of the cage she is okay, cuddles in our shirts. She is also small.
Quincy is still somewhat scared but we are working on that as well. He also has a hard time going in the litter box-working on that too! He is smaller than the rest but he is a nice boy.
Carver is a big boy who is very curious and friendly. He will cuddle during out time and is energetic. He does get scared if you come at him too fast.”
UPDATE 12/29/16 on Carver:
“He looks like an innocent boy but he loves to harass the ladies (and sometimes boys)! He chases them around and around the entire cage, then pounces. He needs to be with females, it’s his livelihood!”
UPDATE 4/29/17 on Bourne and Holland:
“A few weeks after getting her, Bourne bit my fiance once. Since then she has not bitten either of us but we have been cautious. She’s a great companion for Holland but I still can’t get her to take treats from me (even chocolate).
Holland can be shy but is energetic and fun to watch nest and climb before she hops into her favorite hammock or igloo. She is curious about us though and will come check us out, especially if a treat is involved. She is being taught to be less mouthy, but she does sometimes like to nip (never hard) so I wouldn’t recommend her for children. While she can become afraid if grabbed to be picked up, she does seem to like climbing around if you put her on your shoulders, especially if you have a hoodie on that she can burrow in. I can tell she’s a sweet girl who has the ability to come out of her shell with more work. Also worth noting, she is very easy to introduce to new rats.”
UPDATE 5/18/17 on Bourne:
“I’ve made some good progress with Bourne. She will now take food from people. She’s snatchy with it (she’s also likely close to blind with her pink eyes) but lets go if she accidentally gets a finger. She’s warming up to us and showing more interest in what we are doing :)”
