Special need: Violet is in need of an experienced home that can continue to socialize her.
UPDATE 1/11/21:
“She is friendly and very curious, she is a sweet girl but everything must be on her terms only! She is not the most socialized girl, but has come a LONG way since her arrival, she has opened up so much but still needs more work. She will allow us to pet her in short quick increments, and does not do well being handled; I mostly fleece her and she is getting better at it but still likes to protest. I have picked her up without fleece a couple of times but will only do this if her body language and things are right.
She will need an experienced home and one who will be patient with her and take the time needed to go at her pace. She can not be forced as it only sets her back every time. I would not put her in a home right now with small children, but older children with experience would be ok.
For her pairing she will need a VERY submissive low key cage mate or one that can not be pushed and stands their ground may work, but may not. Her personality is of a true princess and if she doesn’t like something she will let you know about it and wont let you forget it. Her eyes and ears will get you every time! She knows how to pull that “poor me look” very well! haha!
She has never bitten but has tested the waters. She also needs hand manners when giving her food, so this is still currently being worked on. We are able to go into her cage and clean around her with no issues, she will just usually hide in her box or a corner if you get too close.”
