UPDATE 4/11/26:
A quintet of fancy rats looking for their forever fetch home
On Wednesdays, they wear… whatever they want. They’re rats.
Meet five fabulous fancy rats who are ready to trade the Plastics table for a cozy hammock in your home. Unlike their namesakes, these girls are way more “study group” than “social hierarchy” — well, mostly.
Regina George | Light grey • Pink eyes • Regular ears
She rules the cage, but don’t let that intimidate you — Regina is actually the friendliest of the group and will happily climb into your lap and judge your outfit from a position of genuine affection. She’s the queen bee who actually deserved to be queen bee. Iconic.
Cady Heron | White • Pink eyes • Dumbo ears
Cady came all the way from… okay, we don’t know her origin story, but she IS a little shy at first, just like her namesake navigating a new school. Give her some time and patience and she’ll come out of her shell. She just needs the right person to show her the ropes (and the treat bag).
Janis Ian | Black berkshire • Standard ears • White belly
Janis is the artsy, bold one — she has OPINIONS, and she is not afraid to express them, occasionally with her teeth. She’s a little nippy sometimes and needs a rat handler who appreciates a girl with some edge. She’s not mean, she’s misunderstood. A true icon.
Gretchen Wieners | Black berkshire • Dumbo ears • Smallest of the group
Gretchen is so fetch. Yes, we’re trying to make fetch happen. Gretchen is the tiniest of the squad and one of the friendliest — she’s always trying to be near you, near the other rats, near the snacks. Her loyalty knows no bounds. She just wants to be included.
Karen Smith | Black berkshire • Dumbo ears
Did you know that Karen can tell when it’s raining? Because she can feel it in her little rat whiskers (probably). She’s a little shy at first, but Karen is genuinely the sweetest soul once she warms up to you. She contains multitudes. Don’t underestimate her.
Adoption Details
The Not-So-Mean Girls are looking for a home together or in groups/pairs — rats are social creatures and separating the Plastics would be, frankly, tragic. Ideal adopters have rat experience (especially for Janis!), can provide a large cage, enrichment, and the kind of drama-free environment these girls truly deserve.
On Wednesdays, they eat whatever snacks you give them. Please give them snacks.
