UPDATE 8/13/25:
These three sisters are absolutely adorable. They come to the open cage door to greet you with kisses. They do little ratty nose checks with their hooman, the way polite ratties do. They are curious and mischievous. They are great at making messes and love to eat.
One-Dot is THE boss. She is always the first one to explore new places. She is the first one to come running up to you and give you a kiss. She is the one most comfortable with being picked up. You might get the impression that One-Dot is an exercise freak. She could power the AC all by herself. She runs off excitement, frustration, joy, fear… any strong emotion and she’s in the wheel. Sometimes just one round, sometimes for minutes. She will need a wheel – 14” would be best.
Two-Dots is the least visible one of the three. She likes to retreat to corners or hammocks for a nap. She is the last one to leave the cage during playtime. She is uncomfortable being picked up. She also uses the wheel. She can be motivated with a treat. She also seems to enjoy watching a good squabble between her sisters over who is the boss.
Three-Dots is almost as brave as One-Dot. She is starting to get used to being picked up, but would prefer not to be. It is better to let her come out of the cage on her own via a ramp or bridge. You could also teach her to be transported in a box or hide.
She is a good kisser, and if you are lucky and in for a real treat, she will groom your eyebrow. That said, she does use her teeth quite a bit. She uses them to investigate, and to tell you that she wants to be left alone. She needs her space – especially during naptime. It is best not to reach for her when she is napping or when she is tidying the cage, as she may nip. But she is cute and friendly on her terms.
