#2023157N, “Wheel”, Rat, White and Tan, Hooded, Standard Ears/Standard Coat, Male, DOB: 02/28/2022, Spayed/Neutered?: Yes 5/17/2023

UPDATE 5/24/23:

“The boys have gotten a bit better post-neuter since we’ve had to handle them regularly to give them meds. Wheel lets you pick him up pretty easily. Spider Robot is a little tougher; he still squirms and puts up a fuss, but he’s much better about allowing in-cage physical contact.

Neither of them will try to bite or anything if you pick them up.

We had them out with another solo foster boy for some free roam time, and they did great! They both ran around and were super brave and curious. We tried putting the other foster boy in their cage and they did pretty well, but he was just too energetic for them. If the other guy is pretty chill, I think they’d do fine.”

UPDATE 3/23/23:

“Spider Robot has a brown hood. Wheel has a beige hood.

These boys are not keen to being handled but they are very curious about us humans and don’t show much fear or aggression when our hands are in the cage. We can pet them briefly before they try to run off. They have been coming around more and more every day in the week we’ve had them and we have high hopes that they’ll be perfect for an experienced and patient rat owner. They are sweet and curious, but were clearly under-socialized.

Boxes are their favorite thing. Soda boxes, tissue boxes, anything they can fit in and make a nest.”
