#2017297N, “Foggy”, Rat, Pink-Eyed-White, , Standard Ears/Standard Coat, Male, DOB: 09/07/2016, Spayed/Neutered?: No

Special need: Foggy needs a little help with his personal grooming habits!

UPDATE 7/30/17:

“They did take a little bit of time to settle in and not be too scared but they’re very sweet boys. They’re still somewhat reluctant to be picked up with bare hands but that’s really their only downside so to speak. They’re comfortable taking treats and being petted, sitting in my lap, playtime, etc.

Foggy has a shorter tail than Sonny. He is healthy except he gets penis plugs pretty frequently. He is slightly more reserved than Sonny but very sweet and loves to play. He loves to sit on ledges and burrow.

Sonny has a longer tail than Foggy and is more outgoing. He is also very sweet and loves playtime. He loves hammocks and climbing.”

UPDATE 12/18/17:

“Sonny is the more outgoing, snuggly, and squishy of the two (yes, he is a bit chubby but we’re working on it). He loves to pancake in your lap and be scritched, he will snuggle with you and brux/boggle while watching a movie, and he enjoys visitors, especially if they might give him treats. He’s a very sweet, very loving boy. Like Foggy, he loves nesting and other rat activities, but his favorite is covering his food dish with paper. He’s easy to tell apart from Foggy because his tail is longer and he is larger.

Foggy is the more active and independent of the two, and has a LOT of personality… he’s cheeky and adorable. He reminds me a lot of “Dexter the rat hates broccoli”, the youtube video where Dexter pushes broccoli out of his house repeatedly. Foggy will pull whatever he wants into his nest or hammock, and then promptly push it out when he’s done with it (like your finger or a spoon with no more food on it!). He is gentle though and won’t hurt your hand…. he is just particular about his house! He is friendly and you can pick him up, hold and kiss him, etc. but he’s not snuggly in the same way as Sonny and doesn’t like to be held in your hands for a long time (but is fine against your body or in your lap). He is also sometimes scared by visitors, loud noises, etc. His tail is slightly shortened so he’s easy to distinguish if you have a lot of PEWs (has been like that since before his previous owner got him). Foggy does require some grooming help in that he gets penis plugs frequently, but they’re quick and easy to remove, especially with 2 people (one to hold him, one to remove). Once you get into the routine it’s no big deal, but something he will likely need help with forever. These boys are well worth the effort though!”
