Rizzo was abandoned and left behind by a camp counselor at a summer camp in New Hampshire. His owner would not return phone calls to her by the staff. He was moved into the office of a staff member when she became aware that he was there and contacted us to see if we could help. He had minimal contact with people at the camp because they were not rat savvy. However he was very friendly and curious. Little is known about him, but he came into our custody on 12/10/2015 and is being evaluated by our very experienced Jaye. First reports are that he is a very nice (and oh-so-handsome) boy.

Being fostered by Colleen N in Bowdoin , ME

Rizzo is living with Colleen’s Jersey Girls, and may go home with any of them.

ADOPTED!

#2015363N, “Rizzo”, Rat, Black, Self, Dumbo Ears/Standard Coat, Male, DOB: 05/10/2015, Spayed/Neutered?: Yes 1/14/16

UPDATE 3/3/16:  “The Jersey girls and Rizzo are doing great! They’ve mostly come out of their shells and the girls are all about giving kisses 🙂 ”

UPDATE 2/7/16, First update from foster family:

Rizzo is a kind, quiet gentleman who enjoys the company of lady rats and patient humans. Rizzo is not a fan of being held but will relent so you can catch him. He’s learning that sometimes good things happen when he’s caught. He has learned that shoulder rides are great and he quickly settles in for the tour. Despite his dislike for being held, Rizzo is amazingly gentle and would prefer to run than fight. He is very happy to be the prince for 4 girls and can often be found at the bottom of a pile taking a power nap. Rizzo loves fresh veggies and can be coaxed into bravery with yoggie treats. He also enjoys cage free time to explore, as long as there is a safe place to retreat to. Rizzo has 2 scars from old injuries and neither give him any trouble.
