UPDATE 6/24/21:

“Ravioli has a delightful personality and is friendly with everyone. She is happy to be picked up and to ride on a shoulder, loves snacks and adventuring, and occasionally enjoys a gentle scratch between the shoulder blades. She does attack feet for some reason, even if you are sitting/standing still, so watch your toes during free roam time.

Ziti is very curious and enjoys exploring, but is a little sensitive to sudden sounds and movements. She usually recovers quite quickly when she gets startled. She has made progress with hand training and will sometimes allow me to touch or pick her up in exchange for treats. She does greet me at the cage door and happily interacts with me when she is the one choosing how much physical contact to initiate.

Gnocchi is the most shy of the bunch, but has made incredible progress and now comes up to the cage door for snacks. She is much more relaxed around people than she used to be (although she still does not want to be picked up), and I believe that she can continue to gain confidence with an owner who has patience and yummy treats. She’s reserved during free roam time but stays fit by running on her wheel every night.

Ravioli is great for everyone, Ziti is easily a good match for a second- or third-time owner, and Gnocchi can also be good for a second- or third-time owner as long as they have reasonable expectations of her and understand she will probably never be super affectionate. Overall, they are easy rats. They live very happily around people as long as you take things slow with Gnocchi. Even when they get startled or have been forcibly handled, they’ve never tried to bite (except for Ravioli’s vendetta against toes).”
