#2024520N, “Violet”, Rat, Black and White, Hooded, Standard Ears/Standard Coat, Female, DOB: 4/01/2024, Spayed/Neutered?: No
UPDATE 11/1/24:
The girls have been with us for a month now and have been making good progress.
Violet is starting to come up for treats with her sister and both have allowed 1-2 pets before scurrying away. The biggest progress has been out of the cage. They’ve been out in a bonding pouch twice now and have met our girls and boys. Once there are friendly rats around them, they become much braver and will climb into your lap/shoulder and allow even more pets.
They will definitely benefit from an experienced adopter that has some friendly rats.
UPDATE 10/17/24:
These two girls came from a pet store and were never given the love they needed. A patient, experienced adopter is needed to help get these girls to come out of their shells.
They will take treats from our hands (cautiously) but will not allow us to pick them up or pet them.
Mina is the more curious of the pair and will always come to the door, but will run if startled.
Violet tends to stay in the back until her sister checks out the situation.
They both love their wheel and burrowing in their fleece.
