UPDATE 1/30/22:
“These rats are awesome! They are very sweet and can all easily be picked up. They’d prefer to explore and check things out right now instead of being held. They will all try to climb out onto our lap when the cage is open.
Almond wants to be the center of attention and is the most outgoing and energetic of the trio. When we walk past the cage, she flies around the inside perimeter following us. She’s the first to run to the cage door to say hi and often climbs up the bars trying to get noticed. She’s always the first to hop out of the cage.
Mac is less outgoing than Almond, but not too far behind when we open the cage doors. She prefers a hammock to running around, but is slowly coming out of her shell and will play around with Almond when feeling spunky.
Pecan is the shyest of the trio and is almost always found in the hammock. She is generally the last of the three to come to the front of the cage, but once she’s there, she’s in the mix with Almond and Mac. She’s easy to pick up and doesn’t run away, so I think the shyness may be partly due to adjusting to her new surroundings.”
