These girls came to us on 6/21/24 from an owner who had become overrun with rats.

Fostered by Cecilia in Watertown, MA.

#2024391N, “Leonor”, Rat, Black and White, Hooded, Standard Ears/Standard Coat, Female, DOB: 05/03/2024, Spayed/Neutered?: No

#2024392N, “Sofia”, Rat, Black and White, Hooded, Standard Ears/Standard Coat, Female, DOB: 05/03/2024, Spayed/Neutered?: No

UPDATE 10/7/2024:

After Leonor’s babies were adopted, it took some time for both of them to come out of their shell. We have made some progress with socialization, but we are still working on it.

Sofia has become a lot more comfortable with humans. She will now get on people’s hands without much hesitation. Compared to her sister, she is calmer and more carefree. I think she can be very outgoing and loving.

Leonor is more nervous in general. She interacts with people but always stays cautious. Also, she is quite an escape artist and moves very fast.

UPDATE 8/19/24:

Leonor is a great mom and was very lovingly to her ten babies when she was nursing them. She is not skittish but can be anxious. She is fine with being held occasionally but can bite when being grabbed suddenly.

Sofia is a great aunt when she lives with the babies of Leonor. She loves to explore and is resourceful. She is somewhat picky about treats but gets chunky by being smart about hoarding her favorite food.
