Karmen came to us on 2/18/19 after some NYC sanitation workers found her and her siblings in a bag of trash! Luckily the kindhearted men knew the right thing to do and reached out to us to make sure they got cleaned up and into forever homes. Karmen came to us already pregnant and her one and only daughter Elaina was born on 2/20/19. The girls are healed up, healthy, and ready for their forever homes.

Fostered by Beth in Queens, NY.

UPDATE 5/21/19:

“Karmen and Elaina are doing well. Elaina is adventurous and energetic, while Karmen is a bit shy (understandably, given what she’s been through). However, both girls will excitedly pop out when it’s time for treats. Karmen likes to be rubbed on the head and shoulders, but Elaina rarely sits still long enough for petting!

You might not be able to tell from the picture, but adopters should know that Karmen is a bit misshapen as a result of the dog bites. Her lower body protrudes to one side and she’s missing much of her tail. However, as you can see, she’s still a very pretty girl!”
