These boys came to us on 9/1/19 because their owner didn’t have time to care for them anymore. They were neutered on 11/2 and will be safe to live with ladies beginning on 11/23.

Fostered by Barry in Centereach, NY.

#2019437N, “Sugar”, Rat, Pink-Eyed-White, Standard Ears/Standard Coat, Male, DOB: 03/01/2019, Spayed/Neutered?: Yes 11/2/19

Special need: Icing has a small but inoperable tumor. He is on medication that may potentially shrink it, but otherwise needs to be monitored for quality of life.

UPDATE 10/27/19:

“Sugar is very playful and affectionate, curious and adventurous, playful, and a bit silly. He doesn’t mind being picked up at all.

Icing is a bit more reserved but still affectionate, prefers to be in huts, a bit shy being picked up.

Both like shoulder riding, love hammocks and hidey huts, will come to front of cage especially when food is presented. They will take food from hand or between bars – they will not bite fingers through bars. They are very food motivated

They still need some work on the litter box. They don’t bite at all, and are affectionate toward other rats; they’ve been very easy to introduce.”
