Hendrix came to us on 5/23/22 because his owner was allergic to him. Costco & Target joined on 6/15/22 because their owner was moving and couldn’t bring them along.

UPDATE 7/7/22:

“Hendrix came to MRR hormonal and territorial to the extreme. Post-neuter he is well on his way to reaching his chill, big squish potential. He can be a little teethy when excited so is probably not the best option for young children. He has not met a treat he didn’t like and is very gentlemanly when taking said treats from your hand. He has no issues being picked up and held as long as you are approaching him head-on so he knows what’s up. He is probably one of the best potty-trained rats I’ve seen and absolutely loves to spend time out on the couch watching tv under a blanket, getting scritches and giving boggles.

Costco and Target are sweet, friendly little ladies who are easily picked up and make good use of their potty. Unlike Hendrix, they are a bit too busy to settle down and enjoy couch time. Now that they are all living in one cage, my guess is Hendrix may prefer it that way as well 😉

Costco always has her eye on you when you pass by the cage hoping to come out. Once she is out, she is one mischievous little imp you need to keep an eye on. She LOVES to explore and climb and if there is trouble to get into, she will find it. She will climb to the top of the cage or cat tree in the blink of an eye.

Target is a bit more laid back and kind of goes to the beat of her own drum. As with most PEWs, I don’t think her eyesight is the greatest. She absolutely loves, loves, loves her wheel. She is also the most finicky when it comes to treats and is a master nest builder.

The girls were introduced to Hendrix on 7/1 and everyone seems to be getting along swimmingly inside and outside the cage. Everyone is fond of banana chips and all of them know that the shake of the banana chip bag means that free roam is over and it’s time to go back in the cage and have a snack.”
