UPDATE 6/18/22:

“Gus and Sonic are brothers, and Oogi is bonded with them.

Gus is the most outgoing and friendly of them, but had a ruptured eye when he was rescued. Fortunately, it didn’t have to come out, but it’s healed at about 1/3 the size of a normal eye, and he can’t see out of it. It doesn’t bother him, but it does cause him to be a little weepy on that side, and from that nostril as well.

Sonic is a sweetheart and is a little hand shy but once picked up will happily stay on your shoulder and visit.

Oogi is very, very cautious of humans, and after a month of work, doesn’t panic and bolt when he’s going to be picked up, but he does freeze and wait for it to be over. Once up, he’s not as panicky as he was (he’d leap without looking, just to get away). He’ll climb on you willingly if you sit still, but he’s going to need a patient, quiet, rat-knowledgeable human who has the time to handle him regularly and help him come out of his shell.

They get about an hour of free roam a night right now, and they all happily come up and say hi and explore throughout that time, even Oogi. None of them have ever tried to bite me, even when scared and unsure. They are all very sweet and will blossom into an awesome trio of personalities with the right home. They are due to be neutered on June 21st.”
