This group of mom and babies came to us on 12/8/17 from a crowded animal shelter.

Fostered by Melissa in Canaan, NH.

UPDATE 2/17/18 on Khaleesi:

“Khaleesi is gentle and kind and sweet! She is coming to the front of the cage now but is spooked very easily. She has that head down timid behavior but does not move at all when I go to pick her up. She is understanding that it is time to come out to play or clean a cage and does not mind being handled at all. She has never bitten and does not run away, she would make an awesome project for someone that wants a heart rat, she is beautiful and kind and gentle and I think with all my heart that she would be a total cuddle bug and be happy to just be snuggled. I don’t think she would be good with small kids because she spooks easily BUT a mature older boy or girl that just wanted a hoodie rat might be a good match too. Sweet is the word to describe her and shy but awesome!”

UPDATE 1/11/18 on the boys:

Baby Gronkle the blue male is very sweet, he seems a bit more of a snuggler.

I absolutely love to hand wrestle with Toothless, he is the black irish male.  Toothless was the first to open his eyes 🙂

Eragon the split blaze also seems to be a snuggler, and will sit next to your neck just relaxed and happy.

Draco and Mushu seem to snuggle together often and come to the front of the cage for yoggies pretty fast, they also seem to like to fight for the water bottle with each other and make me laugh!

Gyrados seems a bit more shy and quiet but when you hold him he is just a crazy explorer and does not show that fear out of the cage, it is kind of funny how he will stand back in the cage but when out he just checks out the world and does not seem like he is shy.”

UPDATE 1/12/18 on the girls:

“The Mom-Khaleesi Mother of Dragons is the sweetest and still most frightened rattie. I think the stress of being dumped in the cold with four males that I am assuming she did not know was very traumatic. I don’t know the story on this group so maybe she knew the boys, maybe not. One was neutered so maybe she lived with one and the other two big boys lived together, one can only guess. No matter what the story is though, being dumped aside the road in winter, pregnant, and then having 13 babies took a toll on her. She is super jumpy and hides at the back of the cage when I open doors. On a bright note, I can take her out of the cage and snuggle her and she is fine and even boggles! She loves to be loved and this I think will make her a wonderful rat for someone who wants to cuddle, comfort and spoil her! She is timid but not at all aggressive, not at all a biter!

Her little buddy is her girl Smaug, Smaug has a tiny white dot on her head and is a black berk. She seems to be shy like her mommy and yet so sweet and cute! She is one of the smaller rats and just such a cute little peanut, that white little spot on her head is adorable and just begs for smooches. Instant love with her!

The two blue girls that I refer to as the twins do have different tummy designs but they looks so much alike and are always together and having fun! Very playful and more outgoing than Khaleesi and Smaug. Spyro is a little nuts, she is that typical girl that is the crazy explorer and you will notice in pictures I had to hold her to even get her still long enough to take a picture! Rhaegal is a bit calmer but always chasing her sister around to play! The blue girls have the cutest noses and personalities to match!”
