UPDATE 9/15/24:
I am so proud of how far these two girls have come since getting here. They take treats now and come out of their nests to chat and Isabelle has started liking tickle games! Isabelle is definitely the more outgoing sister; she comes right up to the door when you go by so you’ll chat with her and is learning to love little walks inside a sleeve. Together, they make incredibly elaborate nests which is so fun to watch. The pair of them have very definite personalities and I think they’re going to be so much fun in their forever home.
In terms of best fits, the girls definitely need an experienced family who can keep working on their confidence. Both sisters are lightning fast when startled and Dietrich is getting over some cage defensiveness so probably not good for a home with small children. However, these girls would be great additions to almost any existing rat or group of rats. They’ve been immediately outgoing and friendly to every rat I’ve introduced them to.
