These beautiful ladies are our Vitamin D Special ratties. Their adoption fees are WAIVED! Their foster mom is willing to drive a half hour in any direction if needed.

These four girls were released to the wild by their owner as they were found in pairs at two different times near the same location. A good Samaritan took them in and contacted their local ACO. They made their way to us via someone else who was helping the ACO.

Fostered by Michaela in Worcester, MA.

UPDATE 10/22/15:

Pita – she is tan but unlike Cheezit she has less tan on her back. At first she was the shyest one but now she is very friendly. Her and Crouton have become besties. They are always together and always come over for snuggles together. She is a little more cautious than Crouton but still loves attention. She especially likes her head rubbed.

Crouton – Brown and white. She was the outsider but her and Pita are very close now. She is actually the friendliest one, and the smallest. She loves to be held in my hands, against my chest. She’s always the first to run over and say hi when I enter the room.

*I think Pita and Crouton should be adopted together, as they seem bonded.

Taco – Brown and white. I’ve started calling Taco ‘Big Mama’ affectionately because she is HUGE. She is much bigger than all the others. She is usually with Cheezit but she is much friendlier than Cheezit. She sort of acts like the older sister. She’s mellow and appreciates alone time.

Cheezit – White and tan, with more tan on her back than Pita. She is the nibbler. Once I get her in my hands she is fine or if I reach in and scratch her head from behind she won’t bite. But if I reach in, even if I am petting someone else or just giving them food, she has gotten nippy. Her and Taco are usually together. She’s not unfriendly – in fact when I open the cage she will rush over. She also might have a vision problem because she is always bobbing her head back and forth.  (MRR NOTE:  poor eyesight can contribute to nipping…we recommend always “announcing” your presence before reaching hands in the cage.)

*I think Taco and Cheezit should be adopted together as they also seem bonded.  They would be good girls for an experienced rat owner.
