UPDATE 5/29/21:

“They’re definitely starting to warm up now. Still a bit skittish but curious about people.”

UPDATE 8/29/21:

Chauncy is the most curious of the boys. He is the first to explore new areas and will climb right out of the cage if the door is left open for him. He also likes to give kisses and loves chin scratches. He is pretty active, and loves to climb in the cage and play outside of the cage. He doesn’t like being held or carried and he’ll squeak whenever I have to pick him up. Other than that, he seems to like being around people a lot.

Ludovico is the troublemaker of the group. He’s always the one starting wrestling matches (that he loses) and stealing treats from others. He’s super wild and playful, and he loves to rile up the other boys. He also likes to roll into hammocks. I’m not really sure why, but whenever he gets in he always climbs above it and rolls or flops back into it. He is the easiest to pick up. He may not enjoy it, but he usually sits still until I put him down.

Randolph is the lazy old man of the group. He might not be that much older, but he sure acts like it. He doesn’t like to play and mostly lazes around all day. He comes to the front of the cage whenever I pass by though, just in case I have a treat for him. He is very food motivated. He likes to snuggle with the other rats when they aren’t being wild, and will sometimes lay next to me during playpen time. He is a great snuggle rat. Set up a spot next to you and he’ll settle right in.”
