UPDATE 6/11/23:
“These boys are super friendly, socialized, held since 1 day old, playful, cuddly, love to explore and are curious, love grooming / giving rat manicures, Give kisses, like nose cavities, eye lashes & hair, eat solid food and drink from water bottle, enjoy treats, fruit, vegis and baby food (cereal/fruit/meat), whip cream is their favorite treat next to watermelon & yogis/ other baby food treats like crunches and cookies (gerber), enjoy fleece, hammocks & box hammocks, hanging soft hides, plastic hides and toys.
Most enjoy chewing on different types of chew toys, apple wood sticks and lava ledges. All are huge love bugs but a little shy at first. Very kid friendly as they spent the first few weeks of their lives with 3 children as young as 4 playing with them daily. Think they are parrots and will hang on shoulder or run down and snuggle inside your shirt. Ok with other rats (with proper intros and free roam time).
The boys enjoy all kinds of bright and fun toys, bird toys, chew toys, foraging toys and hanging toys.
They love card board boxes, tunnels/ tubes and any other places they can snuggle and hide.
They are curently very skittish about free roam. I typically put them in a travel cage that’s fully set up and put it on my bed, I lay down a blanket that I don’t mind ruined and put boxes and other fun stuff around it and let them run in and out of cage as desired. I haven’t let them free roam on the floor or a bigger space than my bed or table yet as they are still pretty small.”
