These girls came to us on 6/26/20 from an oops litter. They were adopted in July but returned to us on 11/2/20 because their owner was in the hospital and couldn’t continue to take care of them.

UPDATE 7/12/20:
“Bambi is getting better with taking food gently from the hand using “gentle mouth”. During playtime she is very curious.
Flower is starting to come to the front of the cage and be curious instead of hiding in a corner scared. During playtime she is amazing crawling all over us and playing.”
UPDATE 11/19/20:
“Bambi and Flower seem to be adjusting well. They still both shy away from contact, but they are much more tolerant of being picked up than before and have no issues with climbing all over me during free range. They’re very gentle, immediately knowing when they are being presented with a piece of food or a food-covered finger. Bambi and Flower are litter trained, getting out of the hammock at the top of the cage to go to the litter pan all the way at the base for their droppings.
Bambi often eats one-handed with the other on the floor and she hangs her head while resting, but she doesn’t have balance issues or trouble breathing, so I think that’s just comfortable behavior for her. Bambi is generally the more laid back of the two, more willing to tolerate sitting on my lap. Given her size, she’s understandably the more dominant of the two. She is a rare tail groomer.
Flower was originally the more hesitant when it came to coming out of the cage for free range, but now she is front and center when it is time to come out. She was also the first to stand in the shallow water to pea fish. She’s hyper, getting the “zoomies” spontaneously and instigating wrestling matches with Bambi, always getting pinned. Neither of them are big on gnawing, but Flower takes more of an interest in the applewood chew sticks.”
