Richie came to us on 2/7/26 when his owner no longer had time for him.

Fostered by Katherine in Raymond, ME.

#20260053, “Richie”, Hamster, Agouti, , Chinese, Male, DOB: 02/07/2025, Spayed/Neutered?: No

UPDATE 4/22/26:

Richie is a Chinese Striped Hamster who is ready for snack time. When he came to his foster, he was so scared of humans he’d run away on sight.

With patience, space, and lot of deep bedding, Richie is now comfortable enough to come out when he hears a human. He loves snacks so much that he becomes a bit eager and may try to take them from your hand with excessive zeal.

Richie also loves to redo his tunnel system every few days and running on his big wheel at 2 am.

UPDATE 3/14/26:

Richie, the Chinese Striped Hamster, is looking for a loving home which gives him the space he needs.

He has two great passions: re-doing his entire tunnel network every few days and running on his wheel at 2 am. To keep him happy, he just needs some deep bedding, a big wheel, and tasty snacks. He also partakes in a good sand bath.

When he came to his foster he was so scared of humans, he would run away the moment a person entered the room. Now he’s worked up the courage to take treats from his foster’s hand, but he still spooks easily. His eyesight is poor, so he must be approached carefully, but if he hears a bag crinkle he’ll emerge from his tunnels to say hello.
