UPDATE 10/27/25:
Alberto is an energized and entertaining guy who is quite talkative and frequently does wild zoomies around his enclosure when he anticipates fresh hay or treats. He is curious about his enclosure getting cleaned out and will often run around my hands while I’m moving things around and picking up. He is the dominant piggy of the pair and occasionally mounts his cagemate, but the two of them enjoy munching together and sometimes they chill together under the same hut. Alberto tolerates hanging out on a lap briefly, but gets restless after a little while. He has cute little tufts of fur near his ears and his fur seems to be long and possibly still growing. He might need minor trims in the future to keep him from getting messy or catching his fur on something in his enclosure, especially since he runs at warp speed like a crazy boy!
Rick is the total opposite of Alberto. He is shy and it took him a while to come out more to eat in the open without hiding. Noises still cause him to run for cover. Rick does have a very loud wheek when he is anticipating treats, now that he has come out of his shell more! He is passive in his relationship with Alberto and complains a bit, but is tolerant of the antics and seems to enjoy his company. He would likely be much more frightened without his outgoing buddy, so they balance each other out really well! Rick gets intimidated by getting picked up, but once he is on a lap, he loves the attention and can hang out and be snuggled for a long time. He headbutts the hand petting him to encourage more attention and purrs away.
