UPDATE 4/8/25:

Naomi is a very busy, busy, happy girl. Friendly with people and rats. She is the elementary school high jump champion, and is always looking for people and attention.

Naomi loves to play with her new (to her) sister, Scarlett, who was rescued from a pet store. She had been living alone in a tank, possibly snake food, with no enrichment and only seed mix to eat. She was purchased by an animal lover who surrendered her to MRR so she could find friends and a forever home. Enter Naomi, whom she became fast friends with in two days – and now they snuggle together in a hammock. These girls are both inquisitive.

Scarlett is getting used to being picked up and has always taken treats from me so very softly. She prefers slow movements to pick her up and is gaining confidence from her new role model. She is learning how to “RAT” daily and mimics a gerbil in her nesting skills (she’s one crafty kid). She is so happy to be out of that pet store in a safe home. She is adjusting very well to civilian life and loves apple slices 🙂 It’s been a success, and they are ready and waiting for their forever home .
