Brussel Sprout came to us on 1/16/24 with her sister Sweet Pea because her owner no longer had time for them. Sweet Pea was made sanctuary due to her age and some medical issues and Sprout kept her company until Pea passed in June.  Turnip came to us on 6/26/24 because her cagemate had passed. Provolone came to us on 7/10/24 because his owner no longer had time for him. Karen came to us with her sister Georgia on 10/15/23.  Georgia was made sanctuary due to health issues and Karen kept her company until Georgia passed in August.  All four were introduced to each other in October and now make one eclectic family.

Turnip, Sprout & Karen are Seniors
Provolone is missing the tip of his tail. Turnip is missing one eye.
Turnip and Karen are extremely timid and need an experienced adopter

UPDATE 11/19/24:

Provolone: Super sweet, easy-going, loves adventures and lots of free roam and other rats to play with. Would love some high-energy friends his own age. Very comfortable with people, lots of love to give.

Sprout: A little bit shy, but warms up to you once she can trust you. Very playful, loves to jump and climb. She and Provolone are high-energy buddies that explore together.

Turnip: Very, very timid and distrustful of humans, but very sweet. Hates being picked up, but loves being the given the choice to come out and free roam and will go back to the cage on her own. Takes treats willingly, just would rather be left to herself. Snuggles with Provolone and Turnip.

Karen: Timid but okay with being handled with some squeaks of protest, which are getting less as she gets more comfortable. She barbers her front legs out of anxiety, and over-reacts when the other rats come to say hi. This is improving every day, though, and she’s at the point where she mingles with them more during free roam and will even spend a few hours in the cage at a time with them. She’s a sweetheart and will come out of her shell in the right environment that doesn’t push her too quickly.

Provolone and Sprout are high energy and need to be with other high energy rats. Turnip is very shy and will need someone very patient to work with her. Karen is new to the group but doing well.

I would love to see them stay together but if they were to be split up in pairings then I would say Provolone & Sprout due to their high energy and Turnip & Karen due to their shyness.
