#2023648N, “Rue”, Rat, Pink-Eyed-White, , Rat, Male, DOB: 11/16/2022, Spayed/Neutered?: No

Both Senior Rats

UPDATE 8/5/24:

Rue has improved tremendously. He recently has started to let me pet him for longer and he hasn’t bitten me in a while.

Kia isn’t as shy anymore. He is very curious and likes to stalk me whenever I’m sitting in the room and waits for a treat.

They both have opened up a lot.

They both come up to the cage door when I call them, ready for a snack. I leave their cage doors open to see if they want to explore but they both prefer to stay in their cage and sleep all day. They enjoy the enrichment toys I make them and wooden chews. They are both so adorable and funny.

I think people just need to be patient with them, give them a little bit of space and they will warm up. Treats are definitely the way to their hearts.

UPDATE 2/9/24:

“They are doing great!

Kia is shy and skittish but has opened up a lot more since arriving.

Rue is very curious. Rue loves to chew on things. So I’m making sure he has lots of things to destroy!

I’m looking forward to seeing them open up more! I think they love the bigger cage and all the treats.”
