UPDATE 8/30/21:

“Ghoul is a bit timid, maybe nervous, but also quite curious and jumps right up to the door when I enter the room. He takes treats very gently from my fingers, and sniffs my hand without issue. He still gets a bit of a self protective stance when I reach to his back to pet or pick up, but once I have him out he is fine. He has used his litter box more than half the time so I believe he will get better at that with time. I was told he might “nip” by the original owner, but so far he has not and with gentle love and patience I don’t believe he will. He is a LARGE boy, and now that he has been neutered, I think some lucky lady rats will enjoy cuddles with him.”
