UPDATE 2/6/21:
“These girls are very sweet and a pleasure to foster! They got along more or less right away with my other rats, even though some of mine tend to be pretty mean to newcomers.
Kyo is a funny one. She did bite me pretty good a couple of times in the first few days, but I think I’ve mostly figured her out by now. She doesn’t like cage cleaning time (napkins are so evil!) so I either clean around her (clean the top when she’s in the bottom, etc) or just take her out. She can be a little tough to get in and out of the cage, but she has this one fleece pouch that she loves and will willingly go into for transport; that’ll follow her to her new forever-home so you don’t have to worry about finding a new method. She has nipped me a couple of times out of the cage as well, but only if I or one of the other rats has riled her up with too much playing. Despite her mouthy tendencies, she’s still incredibly friendly and always comes to the front of the cage hoping for treats, pats, or just attention. She takes treats very politely, even when she’s excited. When out of the cage she’ll come climb onto my lap and seems to like spending time with me. She prefers to be the dominant rat in the cage, but has done well submitting to my boss-girl, so it’s not a must-have for her.
Miko is so relaxed and easygoing. Her favorite activity is napping or cuddling with my most senior girl who doesn’t get out much, but she gets along with everyone in the cage–she’s incredibly rat-social. She can get a little nervous and squeak or wiggle when I pick her up, but she hasn’t used her mouth for anything but groomies. She is so soft and really nice to pet.”
