These boys came to us on 5/23 as their owner didn’t have enough time for them. They loved these boys very much and wanted a better life for them.

UPDATE 6/5/19:
“Dusty is a big squish at over 2 lb. He’s very friendly and as his size confirms that he loves his food! He’s happy just climbing all over you to find out where you’ve hidden all the treats.
Blaze is a little shy but is coming around after getting used to his new foster home. Blaze will need an owner who understands that Blaze is scared but lovable. I think that after some time in a stable home he’ll start to realize that people aren’t bad.
These boys are very tightly bonded and would do well with an experienced rat owner.”
UPDATE 6/26/19:
“The boys have started to settle in a lot more. Their coats are now so soft and shiny and they love being out for play time!
Dusty has taken to sitting on my lap during play time, sometimes pancaking and boggling from happiness when I stroke his cheek.
Blaze has managed to train me in the way he likes to be handled, so now he loves sitting on me as long as I don’t stroke him more than twice every few minutes. He’s a very good people trainer…
They have adjusted very well to our home and routine and are a joy to be around!”
UPDATE 7/22/19:
“They are doing so well! These boys have been so sweet. They’re very mellow, and mostly would rather sit on my lap than run and play.
Dusty, as you may have noticed, has a bit of a weight problem, and has gone on a regiment of diet and exercise to try and fix it.”
UPDATE 10/7/19:
“Dusty has been doing great after his diet, and his weight is at a point that I am comfortable with. He can climb on his own now, and really likes to sit on my shoulder!
Blaze has made the most progress out of the foster rats, and has started to play fight with me when he is out. We’re still working on his manners and teaching him not to nip, but he has learned that kisses are perfectly acceptable replacements, and is using them more and more.”
