Adoption Process
Do you think you’ve found your new best friend? We’d love to have you fill out an adoption application:
Adoption Application for New MRR Adopters
Adoption Application for Return MRR Adopters
Once your application is received, one of our Adoption Counselors will contact you to discuss care and answer any questions you may have.
If your application is approved, we’ll put you in touch with the foster parent for you to arrange pick-up (all our animals are in foster custody in the New England/New York area).
VERY IMPORTANT!! While we love young people who love animals, unfortunately we cannot enter into a legal contract with anyone under the age of 18. If you are younger than 18 the adoption profile must be filled out by a parent or guardian. We will need to communicate with the parent or guardian and they will need to sign the adoption contract. As the adult in the home, they will be ultimately responsible for the care of the animals.
We reserve the right to deny any adoption at any time. All animals are adopted out as pets only. Any applications for animals desired as feeders or breeders will be denied. If you do not currently have rats of your own, rats will be adopted out in same sex pairs (with the exception of neutered or spayed rats).
Adoption Fees
Adoption fees are not set in stone and may vary depending on the animal and the adopter. Spay and neuter fees may be higher in CT or NY.
Rats
We encourage the spaying/neutering of healthy candidates for many reasons including health, behavior, and so as not to contribute to the overpopulation of homeless pets.
Note: Even if a rat is listed as intact, neutering/spaying may be available upon request by one of our approved veterinarians.
