These babies were an oopsie litter created when the males and females in a young girls’ room found one another! We took the males and the babies out of this home. The fathers of this litter are the Mattress Boys, Silas and Frith. These babies came into custody on 09/01/2015.

UPDATE on Feather and Divan, 1/1/16:

Feather: sweet, adventurous Feather continues to thrive! He’s quite the escape artist, but once situated in your hands, he settles down and enjoys the attention. He comes to the door when you approach the cage, and will take snacks from your hands. Not at all phased by my dogs, he’s an easy going snuggle bug!

Divan: the shyer of the two brothers, Divan is a sweet guy, and will eventually succumb to being ‘snatched’ and kissed. He loves cuddling up in the hammock with his brother.

UPDATE on the boys, 10/27/15: “These boys are so awesome and learning so much each day. I am seeing their personalities come out more and more! They’re going to make amazing pets for someone! Nobody bites, except the occasional ‘exploratory nibble’ if they think you have something yummy on your fingers. They clamber for the door when you enter the room. I bring the cage out into the living room a few times a week just to let them get use to different surroundings, and the dogs. The dogs are very curious about the rats, and will sniff and whine at the cage, but the boys seem unfazed by them, lol.

Trundle might be the most beautiful boy ratty ever, with his gorgeous, wavy rex coat and his inquisitive personality! He loves to take snacks from the hand, and will be first to the cage door to be picked up along with his brother Canopy! He seems pretty outgoing and is starting to learn to give kisses.

Canopy is a sweet little guy. Very curious and first in line to be picked up and held. He has learned to give kisses when I bring him to my face.

Feather is a sweet guy, just a bit more shy. He will let me pick him up, still tries to wriggle away, but settles down eventually. Sweet personality.

Divan is my most shy boy. He still isn’t really wanting to be ‘captured’ and held, but will relax after a few minutes. He is a nice boy, just needs to come out of his shell a bit more.”

UPDATE on Bunk Bunk is a very nice little rat. She can be a bit more reserved, but is happy to come to the front of the cage and takes treats gently. When handled she lets me do whatever to her once I have a hold of her. I imagine she would be fine with families new to rats as long as she had an outgoing rat or 2 to live with.

UPDATE on Bunk, 2/12/16: Bunk is more reserved but does come to the front of the cage after everyone else and is very willing to be picked up.

UPDATE on the girls,  10/26/15:

“Bunk is the most nervous. Does not want to come out on her own but once you have her she lets you hold her and pet her and kiss her.

Murphy and Futon are friendly and love to cuddle with the other girls.”
