The owner was told that Toby was a male so she put her in with her male. She ended up having four babies! She could not afford to keep all of the rats so she asked if we could take four of them. They came into custody on 11/25/2015.

Fostered by Nicole of East Taunton, MA.

Toby and Echo are bonded and must go home together.

#2015357N, “Echo”, Rat, Agouti, Hooded, Standard Ears/Standard Coat, Female, DOB: 06/15/2015, Spayed/Neutered?: No (daughter)

UPDATE 12/31/15:  “The girls are doing pretty well. They are really opening up. They do not shy away from my hand when I go to pick them up and once I have them they do not squirm. Toby and Echo are so gentle and respectful with humans and each other. I would trust them with anyone. The girls also are very intelligent. For fun I started teaching them to ring a bell and by the end of the first practice, they approached the bell frequently knowing that it resulted in something good, cheese!”

UPDATE 12/9/15: (First update from Foster Mom)  “These girls are loves! Both Toby and Echo were a little nervous when they first came into my care, but in only a short amount time they have already warmed up to me. They greet me at the front of the cage and do not shy away from petting. Toby has taken initiative to get up from a nap in her hammock and walk into my hands. Echo follows suit. Like mother, like daughter! They did well when introduced to my 4-year-old cousin as well. The best word to describe them is quiet. They are so gentle and not too fussy. They like to climb and explore but there is also a calmness to them. The way they sleep is adorable too! Half the time they are just a big lump under their fleece liners!”
