These boys came to us on 5/10/19 because their owner’s landlord decided they were not welcome anymore. Beetle was neutered on 10/14/19 and will be safe to live with ladies beginning on 11/4/19.

Fostered by Theresa in Somerville, MA.

UPDATE 5/25/19:

“Bruce – Very relaxed. Comfortable with being handled. With a little more time, he will make a good snuggler.

Bucket – Most nervous of the group. Squeaks when you reach to pick him up and tries to get out of your hands. He’s to large to move quickly though haha! This behavior has improved over time.

Beetle – A little jumpy about being picked up. Moves quickly. Will climb all over you once comfortable.

They all like to explore, especially Beetle. All the boys come to the front of the cage to look for snacks, but often seem uninterested in what I have to offer! They seem to prefer veggies though. They have access to a litter box but do not seem to go there more than anywhere else. The boys have come into contact with a dog while in their cage and were interested as opposed to afraid. The older boys box and wrestle a bit.”

UPDATE 8/25/19:

“Beetle is a really nice rat! Small for a male! He is very social and easy to take out of the cage. He is youthful and loves running around and exploring. Because of this, he only tolerates being held for 7 or 8 minutes at a time before getting antsy. It’s more fun to see him run around anyways!”
