UPDATE 8/12/19:

“Though the boys are still a bit skittish about being picked up, they like being petted on the head when they are in their pen or laid in your lap.

They will do almost anything for carrots. They also love red, yellow and orange peppers and spinach. They dislike being examined, having their nails cut etc but they are beginning to tolerate this more and it becomes easier each time I do it.

They have been around a dog and have been held my teenage children. I have never been bit and I handle them quite a bit. They take food from my hand and will crawl up into my lap on their own if I have carrots.”

UPDATE 9/27/19:

“The boys are doing great. They now allow me to trim their nails, comb their hair and take care of their grease glands with very little squirming. They also stand still more often to get pets on the head while in their pen.”

UPDATE 12/4/19:

“Casey comes right up to the end of his enclosure and takes food from my hand. I get in the pen to clean it and he just follows me around. They are much more tolerant of being picked up though you still have to catch them first. They are good at letting me groom them and now both allow me to hold them and carry them without struggling though Casey will complain most of the time if I’m in motion.”
