#2017294N, “Harding”, Rat, Agouti, Blazed, Dumbo Ears/Standard Coat, Male, DOB: 10/13/2016, Spayed/Neutered?: Yes 11/9/17

UPDATE 1/12/18:

“Harding has become super friendly! When he first came to us, he was just a week post neuter and was still a bit protective of his cage. Not now! He has made a complete turnaround. I can reach in the cage to clean, or feed or pet him without any problems. He takes treats gently, like a gentleman. He loves to be petted whether inside or out of his cage. He will let me stroke his ears and face for hours if I had the time! He doesn’t seem to enjoy being held, although he tolerates it well. He’d much rather sit next to me and have his ears scratched. He has had many playdates with my personal neutered male and female rat, and they really enjoy playing, but it has not worked when I try to house them together. I think the issue has been my own guy though, not Harding. So, I cannot say for certain if Harding could live with boys, but I certainly think he would be fine with girls! So unfortunately, Harding still lives alone. He is about 80% box trained. He can stay out of his cage for a good 30 minutes w/o going potty, but there are a few poops here and there that land outside the box in his cage. He loves his fleece blankets and will drag them all into his igloo, but he seems to have no interest in his hammock. I just have to say that he has become quite the little darling and if you’re looking for a LARGE man pillow for a couple of lady rats, Harding is the guy for you!”
