These boys came were born into two litters that happened when their previous owner adopted some already-pregnant rats. They came into our custody on 3/28/16.

UPDATE 4/2/16:
“They’re all easily spooked, and will scatter at most noises and movements. Once they realize they’re safe though, they’re pure energy. They are like tiny geckos climbing the walls and ceiling of their cage. They are very hard to distinguish from one another. The two gray hooded babies are almost identical, but one is way more curious and outgoing than any of the others. He’s always the first out and about. The other is a bit more nervous and shy. There is one outgoing black hooded as well; he is the piggy of the bunch. They’re a little hard to catch, but never try to nip. Most of them are pretty calm once they feel secure in your arms. They’re slowly discovering hammocks, and they love little bits of pasta as a treat!”
UPDATE 4/3/16:
“Aramis is not the most outgoing of the bunch, but loves being with his brothers. He is a little hard to catch, but is fairly calm once in your arms. He loves being put in a scarf or hoodie when out of the cage. He looks almost identical to his brother, Joop.
Boucheron is the most shy of the bunch. He spends most of his time in the hut, and he is very nervous about being held. He is the most submissive of the group, and I can imagine him doing well with most other rats. He’s the most low-energy as well, and a very deep sleeper.
Joop is a little bundle of energy. He loves climbing, running, and wrestling. He also a little foodie. He is the first to come inspect a snack being offered. He LOVES playing with his brother, Kouros. He can be hard to hold because he wants to run and explore, but he’s always a sweetheart. He is also a huge fan of the hammock.
Kouros is the funniest little rat. He is a rabble-rouser. He is a high energy little popcorn ball and loves bouncing from wall, to ceiling, off a brother, then onto another wall. He is fearless, and eagerly comes to inspect the cage opening. He excitedly climbs onto your arm or shoulder from the cage, and is good with being held. He is the most dominant and is the absolute leader of the group. His favorite activity is wrestling with Joop.
Lagerfeld is the most shy of his black hooded brothers, but he’s great with his brothers and he loves playing and wrestling. He is good once caught, and will sit with you pretty calmly if he has somewhere to hide. He loves hiding in boxes and sleeping in a big pile with his brothers.
They are all incredibly gentle and sweet, and will probably be very snuggly babies once they calm down with age!”
UPDATE 5/6/16:
“They are still a bit shy and nervous when in their cage… but once they are out and with hanging out with my little ones they are playful.
Joop is quick and always wants to be by another rattie’s side.
Kouros is perfectly fine with hanging out in a hood, every once in awhile he’ll poke his head out to say hello to the others.”
UPDATE 5/26/16:
Boys are doing great. They love being around my little ratties and they love to hide in sweatshirts. Joop will adventure out a little but not for too long.
