He also likes to make nests and bundle up fleece. He may be a more “look don’t touch” type. I’ve been working to try and get him to be more used to hands and to be less bitey, but he continues to be flighty and I wouldn’t trust him to not bite me when I pick him up.

I think he would like to have friends, especially females. I don’t know if he would like another male rat even though he is neutered now.

I hope there’s a home out there for this guy; he is so funny to watch and it would be nice to see him with rattie friends.”

UPDATE 11/23/21:

“They LOVE each other, Remi is so happy — I could cry thinking about how happy he is now. And the girls are maybe the sweetest rats I’ve ever come across, it’s just a perfect match!

Remi is still hand shy and pulls away from being petted. He has not tried to bite my hand since the girls arrived, but I don’t think I would trust him yet at this point. I would say I’m cautiously optimistic that since his neuter and being matched with the girls that he will be happier in general, and the urge to bite will dissipate.”

Remi

J Lo

Cardi B

Remi came to us on 5/17/21 because his owner was allergic to him.
