They popcorn and romp and groom each other and sleep together always — zero scuffles.

Overall, they’re just delightful rats. We’ve been calling Sleepy “Reuben” and Curly “Wellington.” Both boys are anxious but snuggly and happy to be petted and snooze in your arms or hood. They love broccoli and peas best of all the fruits and veggies. Reuben’s eyesight is just a hair above total blindness so he does better if you speak before touching him. We still can’t reliably pet Wellington in the cage but my husband can pick him up bare handed. It’s better if you don’t give him a hide like a box or igloo because the cage aggression is worse if he feels he has walls and a single boundary to defend. The boys have made such enormous progress and I’m so proud of them!

Wellington has more fur like a puffy white cotton ball, and Reuben is a very double rex pinkish boy.”

Sleepy (Reuben)

Curly (Wellington)

Together

These boys came to us on 11/21/20 from another shelter who received them after assisting in a hoarding case.
