Both will need a little time to warm up in a new home, but will be so rewarding once they do. They have done well in introductions with both neutered males and other females–nothing more than the usual squabbles and puffing up.

Tip-toe has already started to come around. She is easy to pick up and pet, she takes treats nicely, and she’ll even come over to seek out attention. She is a bit of a jumper, and has no qualms about attempting (and miserably failing) a 6-foot leap from your shoulder to the cage if it’s within eyesight.

Whisper needs a bit more time to adjust. We are working on daily 20-minute holds with her and she gets through them okay. She needs a firm hand to be caught, but she’s not impossible. She is wary of treats but will take them if you shove it right into her nose. She does nibble on fingers, but pulls back at the slightest ‘eep’ like a very good girl. She gravitates toward other low-energy rats in the cage.”

Tip-Toe

Whisper

These ladies came to us on 8/17/18 from a shelter that had too many rats surrendered at once to place them all.
