The boys like to sleep in a fleece hammock cuddled up in pile O’ rats style. They are inquisitive and playful boys. They have just started running for short periods of time in a wheel, and they like having a large paper or reusable shopping bag full of fleece scraps to burrow in. They like having both a water bottle and a water bowl.

Yuri and Shervin are slightly more confident than Reza. Yuri has been known to grab the end of toilet paper roll decorate with streamers of TP during a few out of cage times in bathroom area! Shervin discovered the joy of sleeping in a sock drawer and inspecting humans eyelashes!!! He also like to sneak in a little unexpected nibbly “kiss” here and there!!

Reza is a just a little more tightly wound. He could be a little jumpy or startled by unexpected sounds and a little hesitant to try new things. He is also the only one who will lounge out in the open during out of cage time and roll over a bit so you could rub his belly and he sometimes “wags” his tail when he gets his lower back and butt scratched!

Foods they like include:
Organic spring greens salad mix
Thick cut oatmeal (dry)
Honey Nut Cheerios
Corn, peas, cooked sweet potato
Brown rice w drizzle of unrefined coconut oil
Chicken
Harlan Teklad/Native Earth Blocks

Favorite indulgent treat:
plain cheesecake

The hairless boys are moisturized w coconut oil and then, with the residual oil on hands, Reza is then wiped on feet and tail. This ensures they all smell like coconut oil and no one rat will try and obsessively lick another as they all smell/taste like coconut! ”

Yuri

Shervin

Reza

These boys came to us on 3/9/18 after they were abandoned at a pet store.
