ADOPTED!<\/strong><\/p>\n UPDATE 9\/18\/17:<\/strong><\/p>\n “Pete<\/em> is the braver\/dominant one. He is more energetic and occasionally likes to run around excitedly. He can be grabby with treats sometimes.<\/p>\n Sully<\/em> (I’ve been calling him Sullivan) is more gentle and shy. He seems overall more mellow.”<\/p>\n UPDATE 9\/27\/17:<\/strong><\/p>\n “Both boys are VERY gentle when taking treats from me. Pete has an addiction to sunflower seeds and has NEVER nipped me when taking a seed from my fingers. Pete likes to roam outside the cage and has played with me chasing my hand. Pete willingly climbs onto my lap to earn treats. I’ve been working on 20 minute holds with Sully because he is much more scared and doesn’t like the outside of the cage. Neither of them enjoy being petted or held yet, but like I said Pete will actively approach me, if I am busy holding Sully, Pete will even tug at my sweatshirt to try to gain my attention.<\/p>\n They love banana chips, dried papaya, and sunflower seeds. I occasionally give them chicken bones, which they love too.<\/p>\n I haven’t introduced them to any other rats. Because of being more anxious rats, I imagine that they would bond fairly easily with other rats.<\/p>\n I practice nunchucks in front of their cage, which has unpredictable noises and sometimes loud dropping of the chucks, they’ve pretty much adapted to that. I get the impression that they are pretty adaptable little guys, just that they didn’t have much to experience in their last home.<\/p>\n I think they would tolerate a gentle child. They would need a couple days to adjust to the new home\/people and then they would probably be fine.
