He loves hanging out with mom and getting in some one-on-one nursing time while the rest are out playing. He loves playing with and being held by people.

Steve is just very nice! He puts up with anything and likes to be held/cupped.

Clint is intelligent and adventurous. He likes to climb around on top of the cage. He learned to climb up and lick the condensation off of a fresh, cold water bottle while 6+ others are at the bottom fighting to get a lick.

Logan is very independent. He was the first to venture out of the nest on his own, and first to open his eyes, and the first to try solid food. He prefers to hang out solo and explore or take a nap. His second priority is hanging out with people; he prefers the company of humans to other rats. It doesn’t seem to be that he doesn’t get along with them–he’ll nap with them and wrestle from time to time–but he just is a lone wolf(rat)!

Gamora has a very balanced personality. Some moments she wants to explore, climb, and play, while others she just wants to curl up and nap. Most of the time, as long as the door’s open, I can find her hanging out on top of the cage.

Carol (mom) puts up with so much. With more babies than nipples, and all of them trying to nurse her right up until 4½ weeks, she’s shown some real patience. She was a bit nippy in the beginning but no longer now that her babies are older. She loves to play “destroy the evil napkin that has come to steal our glorious poops”. At least out of the cage she seems to get along well with other young/adult rats.”

UPDATE 8/16/16:

“An update on the PEWs:

Bruce is a truly loving boy. He settles right in to get cuddles. When he’s out exploring with his brothers he stops in every few minutes to say hi and check on his humans. As I was typing the last sentence he came over and pulled on my shirt to let me know he needed a pet (dies of cute).

Tony is a little more shy but likes to act tough. When he does something silly he brushes it off like “I definitely was trying to do that”.

Peter is a real cuddle bug. He wants to be in the middle of any cuddle pile, be it rattie or human.

Thor settles right down in my hands and loves to take naps.

These rats are all very stereotypical of their gender. While the boys are overall move cuddly, the girls are off exploring but they’re still so friendly! They all run back and check on me, give me a few sniffs or clean my nails, and then run off again until they get tired and then are all interested in forming a nap pile on the human.

Doreen is the most people-centered of the PEW girls and also a little silly. She likes to climb up my shirt and sniff my face or run down my arm.

Wanda likes to sit (not nap) on my lap, sniffing around and taking in the world before running of to explore with her sisters, come back, and repeat. She likes to be close to people and bruxes when she’s happy.

Natasha is the most reserved and loves a good nap, but still is definitely friendly. Once she wakes up she’ll explore and give manicures.

Ororo is playful and sweet, and down to hand wrestle. She does the same as Bruce with pulling my shirt to get my attention

Gamora has gotten more people-centered as she’s grown. She’s still most interested in exploring, but she’s also the first to the cage door to say hello and give kisses.”

UPDATE 9/17/16:

“Carol has grown up so much! With no more parenting for her to do, she has relaxed immensely and turned into such a great rat. While she’s out of the cage she’ll often come over and just curl up on my lap for a few minutes before plodding off. I’d say she’s the cuddliest of the girls.

Doreen is just as personable as ever, and all of her sisters have seemed to join her in this. All of the baby girls are so friendly and genuinely want to spend time with people. Natasha, though, is still the most independent and doesn’t mind exploring off on her own or napping with Ace.

Steve as well has become so much more people-centered. He was so nice to begin with that it’s hard to believe it could get any better but it did. He is a real shoulder rat and spends most of his free-range time climbing up my side or arms to my shoulders or feeling spurned if I put him back down.”

UPDATE 11/23/16:

“Peter is very sweet and becoming more and more cuddly as he grows up. He has recently started playing and hand wrestling with humans, and he is fine being picked up. Sometimes it seems he even enjoys the affection–I have caught him leaning in to head kisses and looking up as if to say “that’s it?” when I stop. He loves to be pet and to get full-body rubs.

Thor is the biggest cuddle bug of the bunch. He is a little bundle of mush, and will let anyone pick him up and carry him, give kisses, and even roll him over and kiss his tum. He would be amazing in a home with children.

Logan is still very independent but getting better at accepting cuddles. He comes over to be pet but prefers to be off on his own exploring.”

ADOPTED:

<del>#2016575N, “Ororo”, Rat, Pink-Eyed-White, , Standard
