She loves having a pouch and will climb right in it – rides shoulder well. But everything has to be done on Demeter’s terms, and if it isn’t, she will nip you. We are also currently working on pouch training so that, if you can’t pick her up, she will automatically go to the pouch. She will tolerate petting, but does not seem to enjoy it.

UPDATE 4/16/16:

Demeter is now adoptable. She isn’t super outgoing yet, but she’s not aggressive as long as the handler understands her boundaries and limitations. She needs a pouch to be picked up, and when she says not to touch her, you have to leave her alone. She’ll need a confident handler and is still a work in progress. She needs a home without kids.

Demeter

Demeter’s owner could no longer care for her and needed to find her a new home with other rats. She came into custody on 2/20/16.
