This mom and her babies came to us from an overcrowded shelter. They came into our custody on 5/21/16. They will be ready to go home beginning 6/23.

Fostered by Breanne in Bath, ME.

UPDATE 6/16/16:

Aife is wonderful- I’m really impressed. She gets a little nervous at the initial being picked up, struggling a bit, but she truly loves to be on your shoulder while you walk around. I have gone outside with her on my shoulder, and she has been perfectly calm and interested. When I sit down she is quite the adventurer, so you have to be careful haha! She squeezes right in between couch cushions, etc, but it doesn’t seem to be out of fear or hiding. It seems to be just exploring.

As for the babies, here is what I have noticed:

Bo: she’s quite brave!  She’s always the one at the front of the cage when I go to spend time with them, the one who seems excited to come out. Just like mom, she is adventurous and loves to run off to explore, and enjoys being on your shoulder while you walk around.

Kenzi: she’s confident with people and being held, but much more of a shy, snuggly rat. She was the runt and is still slightly smaller, and always seems quite submissive perhaps because of that.

Massimo: shy, sleepy, snuggly. Not the adventurer, would rather snuggle up with you or his siblings to rest. He is usually tucked away hiding until food comes out.

Hale: he seems like the boss of the babies. A bit more snuggly when it comes to being handled- he tends to fall asleep while being cuddled on the couch.

Trick: shy, but snuggly! He and hale are usually curled up together.

Vex: a little shy, kind of an “in between” personality, can be an adventurer at times. Very curious.

Dyson: gets a bit nervous at the initial pick up just like his mom, but he loves to explore. Isn’t too much the snuggly type so far. Very playful.

Ash: a bit nervous about handling, kind of like his mom, seems to enjoy shoulder rides. He loves his hammocks and is often napping away in them. Follows the others.

There are a couple of them that enjoy running on their wodent wheel, but I can’t remember who. I’ll have to share that so future owners can get them one  ??  I know for sure mama doesn’t like it!”
