These rats all came to us on 6/4/16 from Holbrook. This group is from 3 litters. One litter was born in Holbrook, NY and came to us as a few weeks old just weaned. The other two litters were born to Cobalt or her sister on 6/11 (the girls gave birth on the same day); unfortunately after the babies were weaned one of the moms passed away.

UPDATE 5/30/17:

“Jackson is the largest of the four boys, and the most outgoing. He’s the first one to the door as soon as someone enters the room, and always has to be a part of whatever’s going on. He’s incredibly friendly and gentle; he just wants attention and scratches.

Forest is the other big boy, and is so fluffy he seems bigger than Jackson. He seems handshy at first, but as soon as you start scratching him he’ll fall over onto his side for more. He was the first one to come out of the cage on his own, and is very laid back. Forest and Dudley are inseparable and both really sweet. They never pick on the two smaller boys and get along famously.

Dudley is the smallest of the intact boys. He seems shy a first, but once he gets going he’s the bravest of them all! When we experimented with free-roam with them, Dudley was the last one to get off our laps, but once he did he was the only one who explored the whole room on his own.

Stony is the neutered dumbo boy. He’s smaller and a bit more nervous than the rest, but once he sees Dudley doing something he’s right there with him. Once you reassure him with a yogi or two he melts away in your arms.

All four of them are super sweet, affectionate and easy to handle. They’ve been amazing right from the first day!”
