These babies were born into our custody when mom Jessie of Clair’s bunch was taken in already pregnant. They were born on 4/3/16 and will be ready to go home starting 5/8/16.

As always, we like to pair the more novel rats with the classic rats to ensure that they all have an equal opportunity of finding a home.

Fostered by Patterson in Dedham, MA.

UPDATE 4/25/16

All of the babies are comfortable being handled.  They are still young, so I’m only just beginning to get to know their personalities.

Boys:

Georg is super playful.  He loves to zoom around the cage, especially when you open the cage door he will run back and forth trying to get you to play chase with him.

Tycho is more reserved than most of his siblings.  He is one of the last to come out to say hello when I open the cage door, usually because he is off doing his own thing.  During free range time, he is pretty calm and often buries his head in my sleeve.  He is listed as black self, but he has the tiniest white spot on his chest.

Pierre is incredibly friendly and playful in the cage.  When I take him out, he cuddles in my hood or snuggles in my arms. He is super sweet.

Girls:

Blaise is the most adventurous and playful of the babies.  She is very curious, interested in exploring new places and people.  She loves to finger wrestle and enjoys free range time.  She will settle in your arms and brux, but not until she has gotten out all of her energy investigating.

Cayley is more laid back than the rest of her sisters. She is very friendly and loves to explore.  She usually investigates the free range space and then settles in my lap to be petted.  It’s not unusual for her to fall asleep while relaxing in my arms.

Sophie is very outgoing and friendly.  She is the first to check out new treats and toys. She enjoys free range time but will also settle down for pets.

Émelie is outgoing and cuddly.  She will climb right into my hand and brux while I pet her, but then she runs off and plays with her siblings coming back for occasional pets in between playing.

Ada is the shyest of the girls.  She usually tags along with one of her siblings.  During free range time, she will sit in my lap and snuggle until her siblings show her it is safe, then she will explore around.
